An unprecedented experience in the high country mountains of North Carolina, our private community winery features premium grapes and juices imported from various parts of California. In a unique twist, they are shipped in first-use barrels, then blended and bottled right here at our brand-new facility. The result is the freshest, highest quality wines with a wide range of evolving blends and varietals to savor.
“Eagles Nest Winery is definitely very unique compared to other wineries” says Eagles Nest Winery Member Experience Manager, Kendal Mull. “Here at Eagles Nest Winery, we offer winery memberships where our annual members are like family. We strive to give members and guests a very personalized experience where everyone is valued and appreciated.”
Find Your Perfect Fall Pairing
In addition to wine tasting, homeowners and guests can enjoy a curated wine and culinary experience unlike anything in the area. The chef-prepared menu evolves seasonally, ensuring only the freshest flavors are prepared for your palette.
The current fall 2021 menu includes everything from delicious charcuterie boards featuring locally sourced cheeses and accoutrements, gourmet pizzas like Pear and Rustica, paninis, wraps, and yes, even dessert.
Wondering which pairing is a staff standout? “One of our favorite wines is definitely the Talon. This wine is a red blend of petite sirah, petite verdot, cabernet, and merlot. This wine was actually named by one of our members which makes it even more special. One of our food items that pairs really well with this wine is the Steakhouse pizza,” says Mull.
While there are some tried-and-true flavor pairings, Kendal explains, “we encourage our guests to go outside of their comfort zone and try different wines with different foods in order to truly understand their palette.”
New to wine pairing? Here’s a peek at the flavors that bring out the best in one another.
Reds: Pairs well with red meat, grilled portobello mushrooms, and aged cheeses
Whites: Pairs well with fish or chicken, seasonal vegetables, softer cheeses with fruity whites, and more flavorful cheeses with oaky Chardonnays
Rosés: Pairs well with salmon, ham sandwiches, asparagus, crispy prosciutto and Brie cheese
“In order to figure out what you truly enjoy, wine, like most foods or beverages we consume, is a process,” says Kendal, “most wineries offer tastings and we encourage you to participate in those so you can learn to appreciate, and even come to love, some different styles of wine.”
No matter what kind of wine experience you’re searching for, you’ll find it right here at Eagles Nest Winery.
