Merlots. Chardonnays. Cab Savs. These, along with other varietals and blends, will be the star attractions at the brand new Eagles Nest Winery—currently under construction and slated to open right before the holidays. The winery is just the latest in a vast array of first-class amenities homeowners at Eagles Nest enjoy. “There’s lots of anticipation and excitement about this,” says Eagles Nest Developer, Will Adkins. “We’ve been thinking this would be a natural extension of the amenities and outdoor activities that make Eagles Nest the most sought-after master-planned community in the High Country.”
A place to gather and indulge the palate
Interest in the new winery has already begun to spark. Although many of the details are still be finalized, the new winery will be located on a scenic ridge just past the North Pavilion in a converted old barn. The elevation will also afford great views, the perfect backdrop to raise a glass and while away the afternoon. “This is going to be special, the kind of place you’ll want to come hang out with friends, watch the sun set, and savor a distinctive, carefully cultivated glass of wine.” Such is the vision of Eagles Nest Winery General Manager, Jeff Lemke. “We’re completely overhauling the old barn,” says Jeff, “transforming it into a modern, rustically elegant two-story facility, with an open, inviting tasting room, a high-barreled ceiling with lots of glass, and an outdoor fire pit offering terrific views of the valley below. It’s going to be the kind of place people want to meet, grab a bottle of wine, some charcuterie, and spend quality time with friends.”
The finest California wines coming to the High Country
The concept is simple. Jeff finds and acquires outstanding first-use barrels from the California Wine Country. They are shipped to Eagles Nest, where Jeff and his team age, blend, and bottle the wines on site in the new facility, directly from the barrels. “We blend, filter, and bottle,” says Jeff, right on site. “We are getting the finest wines in the Napa Valley and selecting exactly what we want. So whenever you stop by the winery you’ll always be able to try something new. We plan on keeping 5 to 6 varietals at all times: a couple of cabernets, a pinot, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, and merlot. All types will appeal to a similar palate, with deep, heavy tanins, long finishes, a big mouth feel, and oaky. We think people are going to be very pleased with the quality and viariety of choices”
